Trapped deep beneath the planet Ettrion, four unlikely heroes are imprisoned and forced to mine precious gems for the evil king Malek the Devourer, and they know one thing: they must escape and defeat their arch nemesis before his malice can spread across the world.

Heroes is a 2D side-scrolling action-adventure game inspired by the classics, with modern touches. Choose between the Warrior, Archer, Rogue, or Wizard and battle your way through collapsing caverns, cursed catacombs, and ancient horrors best left forgotten. Solve environmental puzzles, outwit monstrous foes, and uncover a world where every level peels back a layer of mystery.

There's a lot here that kind of just doesn't work.

For instance, there's an "E" next to the potions in the upper right, but pressing the "E" key didn't drink a potion.  What it did do was cancel every time I tried to use it to input my name, which was bizarre and frustrating.

The opening dialogue seemed broken; one option is "Exception? What do you mean?", which, cool, except that the guy didn't say "exception".

The screen isn't centered on the character; instead, they're shown near the bottom, which makes jumping off a platform unnecessarily risky, since you can't see what's below it. (Yes, you can press "down" to look down, but that's tedious to do every time, and just not necessary.)

I played for several minutes and never found, or felt like I got near, the pickaxe. What I did do was make it to a chest with a weapon in it, which didn't seem to affect the monsters; I found a red key; eventually I made it back around to the door, which I opened, and I think that woke up the monsters?

I wanted to test this, so I started a new game and, before getting a weapon, went to the crystal to make sure I couldn't get the key from it before getting the weapon (since the chest with the weapon is kind of on the other side of the door that needs the key), and in fact I got stuck on top of the crystal and couldn't move.

I tried "Load", which gave me a lot of quick-save slots to choose, but choosing one took me to a black screen.  (With potions/money visible, so it didn't crash, it just...stopped working.)

This needs a lot more testing before people can answer questions like "what effect did this have on mental health".

Agreed with all of the above, except I did find the pickaxe, but couldn't figure out how to swing it. I think pressing the trackpad (laptop) worked once, right after I acquired the pickaxe, but never did anything after that.

Not sure how this game is meant to be anything other than frustrating when the base mechanics don't work, especially with all the emphasis on calming.

Also, I ended up not submitting the survey as I don't feel I can answer it honestly with the current state of the game, but just as a note, the question about the categories you fall under (with one answer being Veteran etc) says to "select all that apply," but doesn't actually give you the option to select more than one answer. Needs to be changed to checkboxes.

quite nice but using a key to fire would be better ,especially when using a laptop

Thanks for the feedback! We'll consider it as a potential feature improvement.
